Allison Austin is the Director of
Community Development and Planning and the Zone Administrator for the
City of Centralia. She is a lifelong resident of Centralia and has
served the community as a Community Education Coordinator for Kaskaskia
College, the Director of the Regional Technology Center in downtown
Centralia and most recently, as the Director of Regional Development for
the South Central Illinois Regional Planning and Development
Commission. Allison earned a Bachelor’s degree in East Asian History
from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana in 1990, her first Masters of
Business Arts in Organizational Management from University of Phoenix in
2004 and a second Masters of Information Systems Management in 2006,
also from University of Phoenix. Allison has extensive experience in
economic and community development, grant writing, project management
and resource development. She has considered it an honor serving our
regional area for over 10 years through these efforts.
Allison
is married to Tom Austin, the Bureau of Identification tech at Centralia
Correctional Center and a 20 year veteran of the Illinois Department of
Corrections and they are the parents to one child, Christopher, 17 and
grandparents to Marah Elizabeth.
