Citizens will receive the same collection services as previously experienced through Midwest Waste with the provision of trash collection, yard wastes, leaf vacuuming services and large item pickups. Services with Veolia commenced on August 18, 2009 and will provide the City with collection services for the duration of the five year contractual obligation. Residents are encouraged to have their garbage items placed out for collection before 6:00 a.m. on their respective collection days as pickup times may vary from the previous provider’s schedule. Yard waste services will begin August 24, 2009 and pickups will be the same day as trash collection. Limits on bundled limbs and yard wastes remain the same, with bundles not to exceed 4 feet in length. Veolia will accept large items on any regularly scheduled collection day but ask residents to call one day before their collection date so that crews are aware and prepared.
