Licenses, Stickers and Permits

Several licenses, stickers and permits are issued through the City Clerk's Office.

 

Boat Stickers: You must bring with you an insurance policy number for liability insurance on your boat and the Watercraft Registration Number (issued with your IL number). We must have both of these to issue a sticker for you. See Attached Application Below. Fees are as follows:

$30.00 - Boats with motors under 25 HP/No motor

$40.00 - Boats with motors 25 - 49 HP

$55.00 - Boats with motors 50 - 99 HP

$80.00 - Boats with motors 100 HP and over

$30.00 - Raccoon Lake (any HP)

Senior citizens (55 years and older) receive a discount of $10.00 off of any license.  Temporary 3 day boat licenses may be issued to any person for $10.00 (up to 4 per year).

 Dog/Cat Tags: You must bring in the rabies shot slip from the veterinarian. We fill out the receipt and issue you the tag. The fee is $4.00. 

Itinerant Vendors/Peddlers: All itinerant peddlers and vendors must register in the City Clerk's office before conducting any business within the municipal city limits.  Please see Attached Application Below.

Tobacco License: All tobacco licenses expire on June 30th. Any retail store selling tobacco must renew their license on or before this date. The fee is $50.00.

 Raffle Permit: Applicants for raffle permits must provide the date of the raffle. Raffle permit fees are $5.00.

Fairview Park Shelter Reservations: Using a map of Fairview Park, determine which shelter you want. After paying the appropriate fee ($25.00 for a small shelter, $50.00 for a large shelter), you will be given a placard to place on the shelter the day of the event.

Street Solicitation: This is regulated by the City Council. You must request this event through the City Clerk, who will ascertain the availability of the West Broadway and Pullen corners for solicitation. You will need to provide a certificate of insurance, naming the City of Centralia as the additional insured.

Lake Leases: Lake leases are due on August 1st of each year. They are payable at the City Clerk's Office. Fees are based upon the length of lease.

Liquor Licenses: The Mayor issues liquor licenses, after review by the City Attorney. Fees are based upon the type of license requested and are paid semi-annually. Licenses are reviewed yearly. Fees for

  - Type A Licenses allow the consumption of liquor on the premises and the sale of packaged liquor for consumption off of the premises. This permit costs $1100.00 annually or $550.00 semi-annually.

  - Type B Licenses allow the consumption of beer and/or wine on the premises and the same in packaged form for consumption off of the premises. This permit costs $520.00 annually or $260.00 semi-annually.

  - Type C Licenses allow the retail sale of liquor packaged for consumption off of the premises. This is only allowed at packaged liquor stores. The cost of this permit is $880.00 annually or $440.00 semi-annually.

  - Type D Licenses allow the consumption of liquor on the premises for a period not to exceed three consecutive dates. No person shall be allowed more than six class D licenses per year. This license costs $65.00.

  - Type E Licenses allow the consumption of liquor in restaurants by the glass. The cost of this license is $780.00 annually or $390.00 semi-annually.

  - Type F Licenses allow the sale of beer for consumption off of the premises. The cost of this permit is $650.00 annually or $325.00 semi-annually.
